No one really is asexual.
Please don't get the people to think all these virgin bronies are asexual. |
| Anonymous #714092 7 months ago |
Yeah, CNN put the population of asexuals in America around 1% so that means either CNN (a major respected new source) is wrong, or a lot of people are full of shit. |
| Cgeta #714094 7 months ago |
Looking at some cultures that exist on this world I wouldn't be surprised that some people got made asexual at some point in their lives... |

i know i guy who's asexual, its really kinda odd to watch girls and guys flirt with him alot and he just looks at them like he has no idea what they are doing..
plus he hates being touched, its really funny to watch :) |
| gashunk #714138 7 months ago |
The prospect of asexuality seems odd to me but if people aren't turned on by anything that's their business. What I can't stand are people proudly declaring what they do or don't get off to. |
| Shintaha #714142 7 months ago |
It's okay to be a bit socially awkward, you're probably not asexual, and you don't have to jump to that conclusion. The 13-year-olds on the internet are just mistaken as they want answers for their problems and it seems convenient. Who am I talking to |
| Spitfire #714145 7 months ago |
I used to have a friend who always said she was asexual, but she was a serious cunt who was the opposite of that. She flirted with everyone and tried to steal my boyfriend numerous times...and then when people talked to her, she'd go "HURR I'M ASEXUAL DON'T HIT ON ME YOU SILLY BOYS"
Like that would make her deep or some shit. What. |
| Xevnest #714178 7 months ago |
Though I doubt the existence of true asexuality in humans, what I can't stand is when people declare that they're asexual to try and seem cooler and/or better and/or deeper than everyone else, as if people who feel sexual urges are all perverts who can't control their hormones and exist solely to reproduce. |
| dudemang #714190 7 months ago |
Noel is asexual.
She also has a nice picture somewhere on her Tumblr detailing the bigotry and ignorance asexuals have to put up with. It surprised me. I didn't think not having sexual attractions would seem to offend so many people. |
| liquidXTC #714194 7 months ago |
I have a feeling that people who think they are asexual just have fetishes that are so weird or rare that they just never saw any of it, so they think nothing turns them on. |
| gashunk #714196 7 months ago |
^ I.E. People who don't have internet |
| liquidXTC #714204 7 months ago |
@dudemang
Sure it offends people. They get jealous. I mean, imagine it, being totally immune to any distractions by the opposite gender... or your own gender or anything else. Love can hurt pretty bad so it must be like heaven if you don't need it. Not to mention all the people who have fetishes that they can't fulfill for legal or any other reasons. Being asexual must be way better. |
| ClaireAnneCarr #714212 7 months ago |
nope |
| ryebread #714219 7 months ago |
I am asexual.
As long as you don't confuse it with chaste or with people who can't get laid, because asexuals actually do have sex, they just would prefere to not have it (or masturbation). Also asexuals do look at porn, and masturbate; it's just hard, because of the lack of a fetish. Also Lysistrata Gambit doesn't work on asexuals for obvious reason, which is the best perk you can have, if you are in that situation. |
| dudemang #714223 7 months ago |
liquidXTC said: I agree, I just want to make the distinction that there is a difference between asexual and aromantic. You can still enjoy people's company in a romantic fashion if you're asexual. Asexuals even have sex, too - if the relationship demands it. They just don't have a need for it. |
| D_Pony #714230 7 months ago |
@liquidXTC you're mixing Asexual with Aromantic, you can have no sexual drive, yet still having any kind of feelings towards other people |
| gashunk #714238 7 months ago |
@liquidXTC
i don't think it would be jealousy so much as the natural human tenancy to want to obliterate anything that doesn't fit into their definition of normal. It's one of those left over survival instincts that gets in the way of not being a giant asshole. |
| liquidXTC #714246 7 months ago |
Oh, there's an distinction... oops. |

I'mma gonna add to my comment...
I know someone who claims to be asexual. But then again she also has a habit of frequently drawing and viewing yaoi, so it's kinda confusing. Then again again, it might be for the romantic part, not the sexual part of the yaoi that she enjoys, so IDFK. I'm gonna revise my viewpoint to "sexuality is a really complex phenomenon that simply can't be stuffed into one category and/or labeled." |
| gashunk #714345 7 months ago |
^ I like that viewpoint |
| MudPuppy #714515 7 months ago |
I think that everyone really needs to read up more on this kind of stuff to really understand what it means: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Asexual Most people don't even seem to truly know what terms like 'aromantic', 'heteroromantic', etc mean. I'm sick of people thinking that romantic love and sexual orientation are one and the same. How many people are introduced to the term 'gay' by a parent telling them it's when a 'man falls in love with another man'? That's just misinformation...not saying that sexuality doesn't have anything to do with it, but it doesn't have to. A straight man can fall in love with another man, or an asexual man can fall in love with a man or a woman, etc.
@Xevnest I don't really care about labeling myself as ANY orientation, and I don't have pretty much any interest in sex, but I am a sucker for romance, so maybe the person you know is like that too, or maybe she just doesn't want to label herself as anything else. :P I'm not going to go into anything like 'people who do have sexual orientations (or flaunt their orientations) are pervs' or anything like that, because that's pretty ridiculous (although a few people do seem to use it as an excuse to act perverted it seems, lol). People being intolerant of asexual people, people who really don't care about sex, or people simply don't like rule34 is also pretty ridiculous though. No one is really right or wrong about that...you are what you are. Still though, I do wish that more people could be a bit more like *certain* cartoon characters, and be more asexual themselves. Maybe not asexual...but at least think about sex less, and prioritize it less. Seems like a lot of people waste a pretty huge amount of time thinking about sex. XP Love and friendship and all that. Those are a LOT more important IMO. *prepares to be shot* |
| Anonymous #714517 7 months ago |
>People I know who claim to be asexuals act sexually
>Therefore, there is no such thing as asexuality makes about as much sense as >Girls pretend to be bisexual for attention >Therefore, there are no real bisexual girls :| |
| MudPuppy #714532 7 months ago |
^Again, this is why many people need to read up more on that kind of stuff. |
| Anonymous #714705 7 months ago |
@714101 : You're a fucking dick for using the word "autism" that way. I have Asperger's syndrome, and my two younger sisters are full-blown autistics. And here I thought we were supposed to be all about love and tolerance. People like you make me wanna yell, "BULLSHIT!"
inb4 cool story bro, and yeah, I'm mad. |
| WhirlyWillow #714713 7 months ago |
It it really so hard to believe that asexuality exists? (Of course, I can't really tell whether I fall under the category of asexual or aromatic....or both)
I've head friends that have tried to come up with every excuse as to why I wasn't interested in dating, relationships and sex. It's just the way I am, I can't really help it that I'm not attracted to or turned on by anything. Sometimes I wish I could be, but in the long run I feel my life is much more relaxed this way. Who knows, maybe in the future I'll find someone who changes that but I really do doubt it. |
| TheLoneLampman #714844 7 months ago |
I would have to say I'm damn near borderline asexual; I have never had the urge to have sex with anyone/anything, but there are a few things that do 'turn me on'.
I don't think much about it, but it really makes things difficult at times. (Some people think I'm gay because I'm not intrested. No, I have no reason to go to a strip club. What now? Hey, FUCK OFF.) I find that oversexualization of everything these days to be quite annoying to put it bluntly. All adds up to forveralone.jpg but whatever. |
| Nullenvoid #714848 7 months ago |
@714705 Seriously? Get over it. You can't get all butthurt as soon as someone identifies something as an autistic behavior, which is pretty true in this case. People claim to be asexual for attention, just like bisexual. It's a trend. Sure, I'm bisexual, but do I throw around retarded banners to somehow "prove" to people what a unique flower I am? There's a difference between refraining from sex and aseuxality. No human I have ever met is asexual, though many have claimed it only to pass through "that phase".
You getting pissy at someone you will never meet over a comment on a site where people make fan art for a show about pastel ponies is the most cripplingly retarded thing I have seen. Have fun being miserable because you can't stand when people say "hurtful words" you disgusting Untermensch. |

@TheLoneLampman Brohoof from me dude. ^_^ I'm pretty much the same way, although I've luckily never been accused of being gay. You don't show interest in that kinda stuff and it makes you gay huh? Wow...that makes a whole ton of sense. XP
"I find that oversexualization of everything these days to be quite annoying to put it bluntly." Also, YES. A MILLION times yes. I wish people would focus on friendships more for one thing. That's why ship fics that start off with love and romance and friendship and all that, and then end with some big sex scene is so irritating to me, and the reason I hardly read any. It's like the relationship is never as good unless the characters are at least thinking about sex. Also, the many parasprite anons on this site need some SERIOUS love and tolerance. ^_^ |
| Nullenvoid #715255 7 months ago |

You seem like a cool enough guy, but it's too fun to mess with people who overreact. For that, they'll always make themselves a target. |

I think people are confusing "a"sexual with "pan"sexual here. But really, I'm starting to hate the term asexual as a label for human sexuality. It used to identify an organism that can reproduce on its own without another organism's aid or assistance, and obviously humans can't do that. |

Asexuality is confusing to me not cause I don't get the concept but because there are 3 different definitions:
1: A life form which reproduces without requiring a mate. 2: A human who has no sex drive at all but has non-sexual intimate relationships based on one of the other "sexualities". 3: A human who has a normal sex drive but feels no physical attraction to anyone. |
| Deceptive_Trixter #715967 7 months ago |
I am confused. Do asexual humans reproduce by budding or something? Can someone enlighten me on the matter. |

then It's me. |
