I gotta say the first reply is especially disheartening. Basically, we are no different than any other fandom.

Yeah, Season 2 is great.
I think I'll drop by and give her my thanks.
I know I'll remain positive until the end.

I know where Sibsy's coming from. You work hard on something and some shmugs can only hate. This is the internet for you.
But I'm glad to see that some people try to encourage her.

They created a baby pony in that episode.

I always hoped they would be more like real foals, being able to walk on their first day.

Pathetic fools the ones that hate on any episode of this wonderful show.
How dare they call themselves Bronies.

Just went to Sibsy's DA page. :D :D :D

This is what we should be about. There is just a massive outpouring of love and appreciation going on over there, and it's fantastic.

her first response is awfully "fishing"-y. "WELL I GUESS I SHOULDN'T BE SURPRISED" :\ come on.

Let's watch as nobody else gets annoyed that she basically said "WELP GUESS I SHOULD'VE EXPECTED THE WHOLE FANDOM TO GO DOWNHILL because they didnt like a crappy episode"

Lets face it, the episode WAS below the standard set in s1. But does that mean it sucked? NO. Does that mean that S2 is going downhill? NO.

Just chill everypony.

I'm not sure, but I think the first response is referring to people saying all of Season Two has been a disappointment rather than just the most recent episode.

Season Two so far has been just as enjoyable as Season One to me, so people basically saying "ruined forever!!" does bother me a little.

Out of curiosity, what forum is Sibsy referring to, exactly? Because I'm sure it's not nearly as bad as it sounds--it might just a few people being "overly negative".

I'm honestly surprised that so many people didn't like the latest episode. To me it was one of the best from season 2 so far, maybe except for being a little over the top with all the Superman-esque rescue scenes which looked out of place (Ponyville having hydro power plant, or a high-rise building under construction like it was Manehattan)

^^^^ Equestria Daily.

You know, it's possible to still be a fan of the show without blindly worshipping it. It's great that people are complimenting Sibsy on her hard work--she deserves it--but saying people who didn't like the episode aren't real fans? Calling them "Pathetic fools?" I don't really care if someone wants to say I'm not worthy of being called a "brony" because I didn't like the episode since I don't call myself that in the first place... but if refusing to see any fault is what qualifies you to be a brony, I wouldn't want to be one anyway. You are allowed to like things and still find fault with them. That's what stops you from becoming a fanboy.

I am disappointed at how much drama each episode is beginning to generate. a lot of people put the show on too high of a standard, but the thing is, nobody I know has that attitude and when going through the EqD comments, it was like 4 people who hated it but wouldn't shut up about how much they hated it and started a huge argument.

maybe it isn't the fandom at large, just some well placed jerks with loud mouths.

It's so funny how some people hold this show to such a high standard and take it so seriously. They forget it's MY LITTLE PONY. Sure it's a pretty dang good show, but it's still a KID'S SHOW at it's core.

This whole thing would not have been the case 1/2 a year ago. Sometime over the Summer, the "fandom" was inundated by a bunch of le hipsters that take the shit too seriously and forgets to be light-hearted about it.

Episode 8 was awesome. (Rainbow Dash is best pony). I think the only reason some people didn't like it is because people wanted Mare-Do-Well to be *insert fav background pony here*

While I don't really think that much of the episode as a whole, it had some really awesome parts.
Mare-Do-Well was an interesting concept, and I liked the potential Darkwing Duck and Batman references. What comedy there was was also very good, particularly Dash's attempts to open the peanut butter jar.

I still think that The Cutie Pox is the weakest episode of season two, but even that was much better than several episodes in season 1 in my opinion, so season two is still going strong.

Can't we just call it like we see it instead of worrying about reactions?

The season pilot was great, Lesson Zero was funny, Cutie Pox was a funny concept but the episode was about average, Sisterhooves Social was kinda heartwarming, kinda meh (the mud thing was just bad IMO), the pet episode was pure awesome, and Mare-Do-Well was ham-handed, way OOC, and poorly written.

If the writers don't like people bitching about what they wrote, they need to write better stuff. Simple as that.

In less inflammatory words, this. I'm going to take from other comments, so please forgive me for reiterating. We shouldn't have to blindly praise anything, Brony or not. Now those saying Season 2 is crap are just being extreme. They are likely the same people who said that this show is the best show ever made in all of creation about a month ago.

So moderation: There have been some great episodes so far this season. Those that haven't been as widely liked have still been quality stuff. There's nothing wrong with constructive criticism, but I'm afraid that Sibsy and some other people on the show have seen that vocal minority trashing the show instead of those who aren't as thrilled with this season, and they most certainly haven't heard from those who are loving this season.

I said it elsewhere, but if I could average my "scoring" of the 26 episodes from Season 1 and average the 8 from Season 2 so far, Season 2 would have the better average. The show is awesome, and I still intend on getting up early on Saturday to watch it.

I didn't really the last episode but does that mean the show is jumping the shark? Noooooo. it wasn't even my least favorite of the show overall, and it had it's moments (and Mare-Do-Well's design was great).

overall iv found the Quality of the episodes to be far more consistent this season.

Can't we dislike a episode without being seen as haters? I recognize all the effort put in the episode, and I'm grateful for everyone who worked on it, but I can't simply force myself to like an episode that I didn't liked because of this.

I personally think this fandom does things in sine waves. Take R34, for example. There was almost none of it when the show began. Go a couple months in, and pony R34 starts to become more popular. Then Ponibooru starts allowing R34 to be posted, and suddenly safe posts are buried in explicit ones. Once that was over with, it went back down for a while. Suddenly, NSFW Tumblrs became the new big thing, and we were flooded again. People got bored of seeing every Tumblr turn into straight porn, and it slowed down for the most part (or at least, less of it was actually posted to Ponibooru). I think right now we're still kind of riding the down curve on that one, since there are clearly still a number of NSFW Tumblrs, but it's definitely not as prominent.

If that didn't work for you, how about this: shitstorms. To begin with, most people in the fandom got along pretty well with each other because there weren't very many of them. This was essentially the case until sometime around mid to late summer. Suddenly, there was an explosion of shitstorms on everything ranging from furries to religion to porn. We're riding the downcurve from that right now, since most of those issues have either been resolved or people simply have the sense to ignore them. Honestly, the only big argument starters currently are Hasbro toy names and this, I guess. Nothing else really manages to evolve into a full on shitstorm, argument, or debate.
