Sometimes personalities of characters don't get fully developed in the pilot. Ponies change over time as the show's crew figures out how they want things to be.
Also, sometimes show for little kids. |

I think the most obvious explanation is that in the pilot, Pinkie was giggling and dark and shadowy trees that only LOOKED spooky. Her song was about not being afraid of shadows and dark places. Real ghosts? That's something else entirely. |

@707849 Damn straight. Pinkie Pie's talked about both eating hotdogs (not specifying tofu) and sung about being vegetarian, and I wouldn't be surprised in the least if her family and their business was completely different than how they appeared in her flashback.

I dunno, I think she'll "giggle at the ghosties" and face her fears when something bigger is at stake (in the case of the first two episodes, it was the fate of Equestria) but other than that, she'll be scared for fun since there's really nothing to worry about. |

It seems that Pinkie has been a lot less giggly/happy in general this season. She laughed AT Twilight in Lesson Zero, and she's shown excessive gluttony. When has she actually laughed with mindless abandon like in the first season? |
