Hmmm... Maybe that filly was just a friend or something. Actually, this is just my headcannon, but...
Tootsie Flute is a good friend of Dinky's from school. Sparkler knows this and... maybe one day Tootsie was passing by Sparkler during her picnic and was all "hey wait, you're my sister's friend, aren't you? If you want, I can share some sadnwiches with you." And they became friends too. I remember earlier... I can't remember who, but somepony else on Ponibooru was suggesting that maybe Sparkler was just being nice. I thought that was a good idea and tried expanding on it a little. No need for the fanon to get too convuluted, in my humble opinion! |

sparkler is dinky's sister, adopted by derpy. that filly isnt sparkler's daughter, its dinky's friend. dinky is absent from this scene, just elsewhere offscreen. ''my sweetie'' may be saved yet..... |

True. The staff probably tosses in background ponies without much thought to relations all the time. That's why everypony's going nuts about their precious fanons when the staff tosses em in directions they don't like. Me, I don't care that strongly about the whole "Derpy is Dinky's mother" theory. But since the staff's tossing of background ponies around has led to a canon relationship between Sparkler and Dinky, so I feel a need to care about that one. I wasn't out to save any fanfics or anything, so I guess it's a bonus if I did. Sparkler's voice is kinda cool and her exasperated interactions with RD were super fun to watch. But I wonder if she'll have the same voice or suffer BonBon's curse in the future... Yikes! I care, but I didn't mean to care this strongly! What happened to me?! |
