Honestly it would be best for the fandom if it would drop the whole "love and tolerate" motto. By no means am I advocating everyone to act like total dicks to everyone.
It's just that now a days the motto causes more harm then good. And it honestly has gotten out of hand by people trying to make sure people follow it as a code. The scout motto is "Be prepared" but that doesn't always mean the scout is going to have the means for every possible outcome. The whole love and tolerate thing had to do with a anti troll device. And from what I understood it worked properly. Which some people aren't doing properly today. The fall for the bait making themselves look. Bad instead of turning the situation on the troll itself(like the whole stamp thing earlier) or ignoring it. Basically what I'm trying to say is that this should be only applied to dealing with trolls and critics and not be held to something every fan should adhere to. |
