Part of it I'm sure is a tribute to other great artists and a tribute to other great pieces of art. Pat of it is the desire to see what those great pieces of art would look like with the addition of the pretty pastel ponies we like so much. Part of it likely for the lulz. |

^ It was made with a computer program, so if you're going to split hairs, it's not a painting either. If you really believed this was a painting then you don't have any right to critique this or any other artwork.
And according to your definitions, Andy Warhol is just an imitator and not an artist because those Marilyn Monroe prints were based on a photo. |
