some facts about adults that autist somehow seem unfamiliar with: Adults can't possibly keep a long-term interest on a cartoon about pastel colored magical horses, no matter how cute and witty they are UNLESS there are refferences that are humorous by being inappropriate and will intrigue them by giving them something to joke about. An example is inserting naughty pop refs or situations that the target audience would not get (thus are considered harmless) like a stoner song (Puff the Magic Dragon), clinical insanity (almost EVERY FUCKING CHARACTERin this show), a death threat (Pinkie eating an apple Godfather-style), a lowlife stoner+his violently maniac friend+a pedophile (Big Lebowski characters) and a sterotypical rape scene (luring with candy, cornering the target in a dark alley, holding her mouth and telling her not to scream/screech etc). be reminded these facts about the creators: 1) They came in touch with the fanbase through a a site notorious for its extreme, inappropriate and arguably "tasteless and offensive" humor. 2) Faust's first project was a mature parodic animation that depicted children consuming marijuana without directly condemning this action through an obvious moral message. 3) The voice actor of the main character (Tara Strong) has also acted in a comedy toon for adults that was based on over-the-top explicit humor (extreme violence, sexism, homosexuality, homophobia, religious blasphemy, nudity, sex, drugs, necrophilia, sexual harassment etc) and her acting included lines like "don't you know that SUCKING MY DICK is a serious offense punished by FUCK YOU?!" tl;dr: MLP: FiM was never intended to be the innocent waterboiled mary-sueish hugbox you think it is and that's why adults find it capturing if you feel offended that the adult audience makes jokes appealing to adults GROW THE FUCK OUT OF IT! |
