Great "punishments" I see here. As one who have read the original, it's quite fitting in some parts. Twilight, Trixie and Zecora in the Fourth Bolgia, the Cheif and Braeburn in Phlegeton, Gilda in the River Styx and Discord in Cocytus (as Anon310 pointed out).
I would love to read a modern retelling of Inferno befitting the current world (there is a slightly modern retelling from the 70s by Larry Niven and Jerry Pournelle), but I doubt it would get shot down by relatives of the deceased. Then again, shysters and frivolous lawyers would fit in quite well in the Malebolge. |
