I am very confused.
I get that the princesses got together with 5 ponies and gave the world the sun and moon and cutie marks. But why is one of the two backgrounds chosen for merging, and the green pegasus comes from no-where. But aside from my stupidity to not understand, this is fantastic. The style is gorgeous, and you make OCs very well, not a single bad design fault here. |

No, not a reference to anything. Just a story idea I was going to write as my first attempt at fan fiction, then decided to do as a comic instead, largely because I doubted I could write the dialogue well. That's also pretty much why I did this with a somewhat odd narration approach for the text. @Anon #5624 I was afraid that might confuse people. I was trying to show Celestia and Luna being at the center of a magical chain reaction. You could think of it as a linking spell: as each pony thinks about their friends and other loved ones, the spell bridges the connection to each of them, expanding outward exponentially until it includes every pony in the world. The background pony is just one of the many steps in that chain reaction, and the yellow-green pony is from one of the silhouettes. Basically, this was my attempt to answer the question, "What is Harmony?" with my answer largely playing off the friendship lesson of episode 23, "Everypony everywhere has a special magical connection to her friends." And then I also paraphrased and dialed-up episode 12's lesson, "Sometimes, the thing you think will cause you to lose friends and feel left out can actually be the thing that helps you make your closest friends and realize how special you are." It felt very telling that Celestia looks at her own cutie mark as she reads that, like her control of the sun had something to do with friendships from long ago. |

More like despite the differences between her and Luna (according to Lauren they were supposed to be quite opposite to each other) they still have a connection. But personally, since that episode was about cutiemarks, I don't think it has the meaning in the key you think of. |
