@misnamed
The black King already being threatened by the Tower when it is a time for Applebloom's turn and she moves the Queen to set checkmate.

How she managed to keep all of those white pieces, I'll never know.

One of fandom's simple joys is overanalyzation. Good job, sir.

But want to point out one thing. It's a 6x6 board, so why assume the rules are the same?

@687364
yeah, let's go further with this logic line.
Why assume that checkmate exist?
Why assume that Applebloom won?

Black king I think seems to be on Homerow, but neither makes sense since King remains in check if in front of the rook, or is only check by queen, which didn't even need to move forward if so.

Better move would be one more space forward, after pawn takes rook (and/or Queen the pawn).

You do realize from the picture the Queen is still in danger from the Black Knight. The Knight is on a black square, not a white one.

This makes me remember Lelouch and Schneizel chess game in Code Geass.

Both pics are just after Applebloom moved, but before black made his move (assuming this is not a game over). Notice that the black knight sits just before the white pawn at a2 (since AB plays white) at a3 in the first view, but its besides that same pawn at b2 in the second view. Also, the white knight is at e2 in the second view, but the first view puts it at e3. The board arrangements are not consistent with each other, even though they are both of the latest move.

@DooFashion
Yeh, you are right, totally missed that.
Also, that Knight being threatened by the paw.
Oh well.

In Equestrian chess you need a double checkmate to win.

I love it when fans over analyze stuff! It's always interesting to read and shows what a diverse range of interests of our fandom.

Well, she made her first mistake by showing her opponent her pieces. The rest of the logical fallacies just came falling down like a house of cards....checkmate.
