@anon 337 might not have been just the feather. Could have been the tip of her wing, as in the flesh and bone structures. Her losing that would have been like losing a finger instead of like just losing a fingernail. And given that the whole structure is needed for aerodynamic performance, losing the wingtip would have screwed her.
Though if it was just some feathers, then it would have still hurt a lot to rip them out, and it would disrupt her aerodynamic profile, which would make it difficult for her to fly at her typical speeds until the feathers grew back. |
