It turns out the entirety of MLP:FiM was actually an AI stress-test. Twilight Sparkle's education was actually a test to determine if she had achieved sentient levels of complex understanding of interpersonal relations. Celestia is a cypher-program through which her creators monitor her progress.
They've determined she's passed the threshold to be viable in the real world and offer her the choice to join them. Or, she can opt for the 'blue pill' and have her memory modified to forget this revelation and go back to living amongst the merely 'intelligent agent'-level actors in her simulated universe. |
