I would say that the show influences the toys, not the other way around.

The train was only added to the intro because Hasbro asked them to, since they're selling that stupid MLP train set.

Hey, the ads can be interesting sometimes. As someone who's lived through the time of 1stUp's free Internet at the turn of the millenium, I've learned not to let them ads distract me.

It's a combination between a coincidence and "Great/Strange Minds Think Alike"

The episode was written over a year ago.
When did this toy came out?
Because a year ago, MLP - FiM just aired.

They already said the toys influence the show (although they only confirmed that twalait sporklz bollon)

Oh yeah, because toys don't take planning and designing too? Because things are instantly created the day they're released?
Knowing how companies market toys, they probably already had the Ride Along toys designed and finished with the first wave of toys (themselves done before S1 even went to air, hence twalait sproklz bollon) and only released them as part of the second wave of toys. For a more recent example of this, see Skylanders.

Hey, i bought that little train set. I was shocked that:

A: It was only $19.99 new
B: It is well constructed, and has a very impressive freewheeling mechanism that lets kids push the toy when it's off without damaging it, but fully engages a drive motor when powered.

Hasbro need to learn that Castles should be made of plastic now, instead of cardboard (facehoofs at the awful cardboard Canterlot Castle playsets)
