..Since I'm not going to help this team, I should at least offer some tips.
- The team is 212997. Make sure your F@H client knows this. - If you have a PS3, the application "Life with Playstation" is a F@H client. It pumps out ~1000 PPD. Not much, but steady. - The base CPU client produces shit for PPD. Don't bother. You want the GPU client, whether you have an ATI or NVidia graphics card. If you run games at high res, you can help out quite a lot. - If you have an 8-core system, you might want to try the SMP client. This thing is super advanced and has a very short turn-around time- it requires the computer to focus on it. On the other hand, this is probably the most points-producing of all the clients. |

#949 - Just to clear up some misconceptions - You can run the SMP client on a dual core as well, but whats best for you will vary, depending on your computer usage. For instance, a slow CPU can still pump enough points if you use your computer most of the day.
And even if its a slow computer, anything is better than nothing, especially if many people do it. |

You *can* run the SMP client on a dual core, but won't the WU expire before you have the chance to submit it? Maybe that's only for -bigadv (which is exactly what it says on the tin).
And, well, don't you have it backwards? The F@H client is best when you're not using your computer. It's pointless to have it running when you're playing Skyrim or something, as all the power goes into the game. The most important thing is to just leave your computer on. Oh, and clean out the machine of dust and other crap. Running F@H (or Skyrim, or even TF2) is a good way to overheat your system if you don't have adequate cooling. |

Yeah youre thinking of the -bigadv, though the current one I have at the moment has a 2 week deadline, which is more than enough time, even for slower systems (unless you dont use the computer for more than a couple of hours a day).
While you are correct that its best used when the computer is not in use, youre not using your computer at its maximum all the time. Hell, in most games, the CPU isnt even at 100%. As for heat, its not really an issue, but it should be monitored if you like to overclock your system, like I do (2500K @ 4.7Ghz + GTX 590 with 20% overclock on all clocks...inb4rainbowdashremark) |

Can't do it here. Place is too energy-conscious. We can't drain any more power than what we're using... |

If anyone is still reading the comments (I dont know why you are, at this stage!), heres something taken directly from the website:
A Pentium 3 450 MHz or newer equivalent computer (with SSE) is able to complete work units before they expire. Also if it help with the power concerns, the amount that my power bill has gone up by is only a few extra bucks. Mind you, I'm also running some powerful hardware, so it would be even less for others. |
