That place must be farther away from Ponyville than like Whitetail Woods or Froggy Bottom Bog. The mountains and trees are completely different than in the rest of all "other" locations. Also the rock color is grey which is quite unusual :D |

^It might be an extension of the canyon seen in Friendship is Magic part 2, hence why it has oversized Everfree style creatures living in them. My theory is the is near but not in the Everfree. |

^ Heh, I had in mind that it could be on the other side of the Everfree forest, which must be quite far already anyway. But I didn't think about the chasm in the pilot. It could really be that they are both the same. The canyon itself seems to be very long anyway. |
