come on internet, this place is not that bad!
.... even if i can't remember my first time in this temple. |
| Xevnest #679789 8 months ago |
Water Temple was not that bad.
...On subsequent playthroughs. |
| Anonymous #679792 8 months ago |
@Rig
you did not remember your first time because it was so traumatic your mind blocked the memory |
| rafasilva #679809 8 months ago |
Best things from the Water Temple:
* Grown Up Ruto * Long Hookshot * Best boss battle in the game (Dark Link) |
| PonyRIG #679811 8 months ago |
"Dark Link has exactly the same health as you do, which means that if you have 16 hearts, it takes 16 hits with the Master Sword."
THAT EXPLAINS EVERYTHING!!! |
| Anonymous #679814 8 months ago |
It wasn't even that bad the first time to anyone with a decent adventurer's instinct.
1) Go somewhere new. 2) Get thing that lets you go somewhere else. 3) Repeat 1 and 2 until... 4) Tentacle monster. |
| Anonymous #679822 8 months ago |
I guess what I'm saying is I'm sure Fluttershy can handle the place without too much issue. It's the Well and Shadow Temple I'm worried about for her sake :| |
| Anonymous #679871 8 months ago |
ya know, i've NEVER EVER got stuck in that level. only on some parts in other dungeons i got confused on what to do |
| Sygmus #679916 8 months ago |
I hated trying to remember where you raise and lower the water level, and from there trying to remember what level each one raised the water to. I was only 10 years old at the time, and it was harder than Ganondorf. |
| Sygmus #679921 8 months ago |
^I recall spending an entire afternoon hopelessly trying to get the correct water level to progress. That's at least four hours of dungeon crawling with no progression. |
| PVRyohei #679922 8 months ago |
I heard that if you fuck up certain things in this temple and save, you have to restart the whole game. |
| Xevnest #679927 8 months ago |
^I've heard that rumor's been debunked. |
| PVRyohei #679934 8 months ago |
Just remembered this: when i first played the game, I bought a walkthrough magazine.
At some point (after defeating Dark Link, I think), the walkthrough said something like this: Now you need to raise the water level. If you don't remember how to do this, turn of your game and start slamming your head againist the wall saying "I need a bigger brain". True story. |
| PVRyohei #679935 8 months ago |
^^ It was probably a rumor then... |

@PonyRIG
Oh, so thats why he went down in like 2 hits from biggorons sword on a 3heart run |
| Anonymous #680146 8 months ago |
My first time through the game I had the official Nintendo strategy guide and it still took me three hours to get through this temple. Now I've got it down to about an hour and 15 minutes.
Also, Game Informer's walkthrough for the game introduced the temple as follows: "Welcome to hell." |
| Anonymous #680161 8 months ago |
I only had problems with that freaking key in the regular version. |
| MagicMarker #680226 8 months ago |
It's not the temple that's hard, it's the first time you try it that gets you. :3c |
| Dr_Action #680265 8 months ago |
gee, Fluttershy is happy now. But she will soon become Flutterbitch when she frustrates over the Water Temple |
| Anonymous #680307 8 months ago |
She's... Excited?
Fluttershy's a masochist. I KNEW IT |
| PaladinDrakkenwolf #680313 8 months ago |
...Her first playthrough |
| MetalHooves #680369 8 months ago |
It's not difficult. I did it for the second time ever in just under two hours. It's not HARD, just meticulous; you CANNOT complete it without visiting the same room at least 3 times; I fucked up and had to go ALL THE WAY BACK a couple of times.
But it was so worth it to fuck up Dark Link with Biggoron's sword and the Megaton Hammer. |
| Daichi #680582 8 months ago |
I never once had trouble with this level.
Granted, I WAS using a guide the very first time I was even there (1998 dial-up connection via GameFaqs FTW), and I just happened to memorize the path. Even going through it over ten years later on the 3DS didn't faze me at all. ...Of course, I can't say anything about the MASTER QUEST Water Temple (mainly because I never GOT to it), but...yeah. |
| Xevnest #680620 8 months ago |
^Believe it or not, the Master Quest Water Temple was actually less of a pain in the ass. |
| Xuncu #680834 8 months ago |
Tsch, people say it's so hard; at best, it's just a little repetitive, sicne even the most efficient route has you cycling the water twice. I don't even recall using Faroe's Wind to make any shortcuts.
But yeah, like above stated: Dark Link (play Zelda 2, bitches!), Longshot, and D-cup naked Ruto. Also; I'm not the only one that noticed that they gave child Ruto pretty-damn-big-for-a-non-mamillian-child polygons for breasts, am I? |
| Xuncu #680836 8 months ago |
Also; did anyone ever find themselves using the Ice Arrow for..... anything at all? |
| Flammie #680994 8 months ago |
The Ice And Fire Arrows works wonders against the boss of spirit temple, til second phase... :p |
| Xuncu #681079 8 months ago |
Huh? I don't remember them doing jack shit. Don't they just spin-dodge any arrows?
Hell, I remeber that you can save your Bombchu's for easy/cheap spam-kills on the darknuts- even in Ganondorf's Tower, when there's two. |
| Anonymous #681362 8 months ago |
The Fire and Ice Arrows DON'T do anything to Twinrova. I've even tried. The only thing the Ice Arrows are good for is aesthetics. Make me glad they got an improvement in Majora's Mask and Wind Waker. Heck, the Ice Rod and the Ether Medallion were more useful than the OoT Ice Arrows. |
| ROTHY #681365 8 months ago |
She's just going to breeze through the temple using the glitch. |
| Anonymous #684997 8 months ago |
Makes me sad how broken and glitchy this game is known to be now. Beating Ocarina of Time in under an hour and skipping every single dungeon except the last one simply doesn't do the game justice. |
| PonyRIG #686097 8 months ago |
@upanon: some people love that, that is why in the 3DS remake they let any not game breaking bug that let "sequence breaking" intact |
