I'm glad they didn't go with the original designs. Too much of the same shade of pink, on half of the cast. Plus whatever the hell is going on with Rarity's color scheme. |

^^^ Applejack was actually around in G1 with a very similar design. She was less badass and more klutzy silly pony though. |

They couldn't go with the original ponies from My Little Pony & Friends/Escape From Catrina/Rescue at Midnight Castle because Hasbro lost the rights to all of their original characters except Spike and Applejack. (Applejack had the same color palate in G1, but more apples on her cutie mark.) |
