If the bill is passed by Congress, Protect IP Act would allow the government to curb public access to websites that have “no significant use” other than infringing copyright, enabling or facilitating copyright infringement. It would also make unauthorized media streaming an act of felony and hold the web publishers and hosting services responsible for curbing their users from posting copyright-infringed content. |

It's 'lolAmerica' now, but soon the rest of the world might follow. At least most nations might. That's the scary part. |

And the fact that most biggest worldwide sites are hosted in the US (Youtube, Tumblr, Deviantart... the list goes on) |

And that's why "Right to read" is just fairy-tale novel and not sci-fi. There will be no Tycho Uprising, New Lunar Republic will never be.
{I'm really sorry for last part, but name just too fitting...} |

It will never pass.
/discussion and panic |

@678031 The reason people are up in arms, to my understanding, is that this one DOES stand a chance of passing. Apparently, some influential people are either behind it or supporting it. Thankfully, people like Google are against it, but that's like saying the American populous is against increases in gas prices, it goes without saying. And just as many big companies are in support of it. In the end, they don't care about censorship so much as copyright, but they're a very short apart with things like this. |
