EqD did it for the same reason, and I think that's working out really well. And it's not quite unfair or a punishment to Anons, because Anons can always sign up for an account fairly easily without any drawbacks. In fact, much more easily than EqD/blogger. And the apparent reason (from what I've seen on other posts,) is that most of the more incendiary comments come from Anons. Making the silly Anons get accounts may not fix it, because they may just become silly users with names, but it would take away a little (but not everything) from anonymity while adding a little responsibility. Removing both of those are good things, but that's just my opinion. It is based in some logic and experience, but an opinion, nonetheless. I doubt any mods actually read these anyway, so what does the discussion matter? Anyway, picture related: I wish I could enjoy anything as much as Pinkie is enjoying that candy. Just look at that expression! |
