Are those suet cones? I've only heard of anyone making those once, years ago. Filling pine cones with suet (fat) and hanging them out for the birds.
Of course, where Fluttershy got the animal fat is another question, but in the field of medicine - some patients don't pull through... |

She fed birds worms, so at some point the empathy obviously clicks off.
My guess is that since pegasi are chimeras of a mammal and a bird, she can communicate with mammals and birds but is more comfortable using other clades as prey species. |

Fluttershy's will states that upon her death, her fat is to be rendered into suet for winter bird feeding. Her bones are to be placed in the woods for small mammals to gnaw for calcium, and her meat is to be fed to needy carnivores. |
