What if Rainbow was the one to get Derpy her job? You know put in a good word for her down at the post office after hearing that she had a kid to feed.

I'm seeing Derpy and RD as very different ponies, and truth to be told RD is more likely to bully Derpy than try to understand her ways.
So I'm kind of looking at these pictures as fanfic by some romantic minded young pony who watches them fight and mistakes it for slapő slap kiss rivalry. |

I think she'd bully Derpy up to a point, like she sometimes loses patience with Fluttershy. But when it came down to doing what's right, Dash was the one who stuck up for Fluttershy and challenged the three bullies who were really picking on her.
That said, I don't see where Dash would have the connections to get Derpy a job with the postal service or moving company. Dash is in the weather control bureau and always has been, and her only other ambition is the Wonderbolts. Maybe Dash tried to get her a job with weather control, during her probationary period she went the wrong way to get the migrating birds, and by some fortunate coincidence landed herself the postal job in the process of very decidedly losing the weather control job she was trying out for. |

I don't see RD as the kind to bully *anypony*. She doesn't even pull pranks on ponies that can't handle it (though presumably she's misjudged her target a time or two). |

Ostensibly, Derpy`s much older then Rainbow Dash is.
It`s not a far shot to imagine it`s Derpy who helped Rainbow Dash land a job at weather control. For all the outward derp, it seems quite bloody likely Derpy is well adjusted in her life. Probably, better then just about anyone in mane 6. |
