Though it IS somewhat girlish, it has it's pros. It DID pretty much popularize the magical girl genre in America to my knowledge.... He... Meatball Head... Also, Luna is in Sailor Moon, though not the Princess Luna. |

I'll never understand how come the American dub of Sailor Moon skipped so many episodes and censored/edited so much, but the Latin American dub has all the episodes, the original soundtrack, and the same video of the opening theme (but translated, of course). |

While the dub of Sailor Moon was one of the worse ones out there, the dubbed soundtrack is pretty good. if you want to see what I mean, look up "Sailor Moon DiC Music" on youtube. |

the dub basically removed any episodes with anything that could be deemed offensive by parents.
this includes most of a season (dont remember if it was 3rd or 4th or what) that had sailor uranus and neptune (i think) who were lesbians (not kidding). in what little was showed of them, they were referred to as 'cousins'. i dont usually care about the sub vs dub debate, but on this one i have to say the sub is vastly better. [/soapbox] |

You should, but go for the subs rather than the dub. Also, google ShadowJack's "Where I Watch: Sailor Moon". It's a great way to enhance the experience. ;) |

Agreed, (1) you should and (2) get the subs. Look at it this way. Of course it's girly. But if you watch My Little Pony we're *way* past that hurdle. Also, excellent ponification. Do the rest! Sailor Moon was the first anime I ever saw, watching it as soon as I came home from school, having already missed the opening (seriously, I didn't realize the show had an opening theme song for years, just a closing theme).
My first attempt at fanfiction was to take a team of "heroes" from various other things, and not only turn them into Senshi but pair them up with the scouts themselves (the team in question being Bowser, Rocky from Pocky and Rocky, Knuckles, and Sonic). And I don't care that I, a 23-year-old guy, still love that show as much as I love MLPFiM. |

Her super form should be a unicorn, and her eternal form should be an alicorn. Most definitely.
I could easily see a crossover between the two. Either the Sailor Scouts get teleported to Equestria and become all ponies, or the Mane 6 get teleported to earth, become humans, and find out their elements of harmony can turn them into scouts of equestria (instead of the planets). I'd advise you to watch the japanese sub, but watch the first season in english as well. During the second season, the dubbing goes down the crapper. The essense of sailor moon is really interesting when compared to MLP. The essense of both shows is in there, especially when it comes to chaos itself. One of their arcs does leave a big facepalm to its resolution... (in other words, future Usagi becomes Neo Queen Serenity who is exactly like Celestia, except she has no tolerance for evil, to the point where she has removed all human free will and there are only 100,000 humans left) ...one that the author, Naoko, hated to live with. As a result, she created and wrote a game that spanned all continuity and introduced the Oppositio Scouts, a group of 5 badass teenage human girls who want to defeat the present heroes from becoming future dictators. Their leader, Sin, was a combination of Rainbow Dash's insane will and Twilight's brain and talent. The game actually fits to destroy the 'expected' ending of the sailor moon anime and manga. Their 'silver crystal' is set to lose its power a few years, cause the Oppositio created a dead switch. |
