In before Luna fanatics try to find a way spin this to make Celestia look bad

That's pretty much how I've always viewed it. Glad that she said this.

Well, what can I say... it is nice when your headcanon being confirmed for canon. To anyone else - cry more, your tears are delicious.

Also:
> Not many viewers noticed, but the narration in the opening of the pilot said that Celestia banished her "reluctantly."

Indeed, Ms. Faust, indeed.

YES! HEADCANON BECOMES CANONCANON! TIME TO DANCE!
But seriously, I am happy. And this is what we really knew all along.

well, like she said, she is demoted to WordOfDante now. her statements can be jossed, but her insight holds more weight than the average fan.

I've always thought that Tyrant Celestia was tongue in cheek until I saw people getting all serious about it

Yeah, it's technically not canon.
But the whole Trollestia thing is such a ridiculous stretch, Molestia's simply not happening and Pinklestia's a toy.
That leaves the caring, benevolent Celestia we all know and love as the only other option.
And I wouldn't have it any other way.

I don't like those quotation marks for 'reluctantly'. Could be taken really out of context.

This is just like the mad reality-bending that Holocaust-denialists do to excuse Hitler. You Celestia-loving nazis make me sick.

PikaRobo, the quotation marks are there to represent something already said. There is no other interpretation for "reluctantly" in this situation.

>People actually thinking, within the context of the series, that Nightmare Moon wasn't an apocalyptic villain and was just an "angsty teenager"

I don't want to live on this planet anymore.

Wouldn't it be funny if Jayson and Wootie and the other current animators of the show saw this and said to each other, "Yeah, that's brilliant! Let's use this!"

I still want to know what turned her into Nightmare Moon, since Miss Faust stated it was some unknown entity that possessed her.

So, does this mean the end of the "Crying Luna on the Moon" trope?

I could go for a compromise and that luna was dreaming all that time, but NMM decided to punish her by forcing her to dream being alone on the moon.

When did Lauren ever say that 392? I remember that she came to be Nightmare Moon on her on volition not some outside force

she said it in a profile comment. I can vouch for that because I specifically saw it.

I can't find any screen-caps but she referred to it as an "evil magic" and the whole ordeal was not entirely with luna's will.

There could have been a Discord-esque being with powers over jealousy and such, maybe even outright named Jealousy (it came to mind after Lauren tossed that word out several times).

But obviously it wasn't Discord himself, seeing as how he was imprisoned before Luna went nuts.

I like this clarification. It ends the whole Trollestia thing and elaborates the whole point of NMM's banishment. Doesn't mean I don't like the idea of Trollestia either though, but only as a funny what-if/alt-universe thing.

"the spell jealousy had put on her."
I like how this is worded... it makes it sound almost as though jealousy is an entity rather than just an emotion.
And if Discord is, then why not Jealousy too?

^ Are you? This ends TYRANT Celestia, not Celestia the troll. You can easily troll someone without using horribly overblown punishments.

Besides, funny shit is funny shit. Get off your high horse. People are allowed to make jokes, and anyone who ever thought the Tyrant Celestia crap was ever any more than a joke is just an easy troll target.

You know I am not much of a fan of Luna and this is pretty much how I pictured it anyway but still it is just a tiny little bit of Celelstia's fault for not noticing her sister had some fucking mayor issues that made her into a cold uncaring monster. I mean when my bro is upset I tend to talk to him and see what is bothering him and try to help. I mean seriously Celly could of done this in like 5 minutes. If your sister is complaining and whining that she doesn't get enough attention then switch jobs with her for a freaking day or something or make some guards stay up and admire the night. The point is sadly Celestia didn't see the warning signs and was later force to do something she didn't want to do. So she was probably a bad sister in that sense. Still if I would put it in percentages 99.92% of it was Luna's own doing and the .08% was Celestia's fault for not helping out her sister earlier.

@539 stop trying to make Celestia the guilty party in this. Quite frankly we don't know how it went down exactly but knowing how much Celestia cares for Twilight I can assure you she did probably try and talk to Luna about it.

@151 Why you love Celestia so much fucker? She is a fucking god mode sue who happens to be a bitch that wouldn't even bother to help out when a giant freaking dragon is causing trouble.
