Hello my dear anonyponous, OP here.
I wanted to take this chance to let you know about something that has been in my mind for quite some time, and i would like to know your opinion about this subject. I have been thinking about making a comic, or maybe an image sequence or even a complete re-edition of a few episodes of Gurren Lagann but with ponies, everything drawn by hand, no those shitty copy pastes i have seen recently. The thing is: Spike is (in my opinion) the manlinest of all the cast in MLP:FIM (please take into consideration that there arent too many males in the show and i appreciate the lil guy), so i have been thinking about him taking the place of Kamina or kittan (probably will be both, fusing both of them into spike), twilight being simon and rainbow dash being Viral. Do you think it is a good place for those characters, considering how the original cast develops during gurren lagann? also, i know, you will probably say "but rainbow dash and scootaloo fit better in kamina and simon´s places". Please consider that in the final battle we get to see the Super Tengen Toppa (which is a manifestation of spiral power in humanoid form) and spike would fit perfectly (a teenage spike with humanoid form of course). |

Sorry but no, just because you think Spike is the manliest don't mean he should be Kamina or Kittan, you need to think more of witch best fits by personalty. |

I appreciate it, and you are right, it would be mind shattering, but consider the following: the mane six, enbodiments of harmony. They are quite awesome by themselves. Poor spike has the gift of being a male. Now the relationship with spike and twilight. Both of them sometimes acted as each other voice of reason, they find strenght in each other. They are brothers! (well not by blood) and twilight has magic, something spike would never use. See my point? Besides, who wouldnt like to see a huge goddamn dragon made of pure manliness standing on 2 feet over a galaxy fighting against anti-spiral-dischord? (of course, he would be dead and the mane six would be fighting inside the super tengen toppa) :D |

I feared someone would say that. I agree too, thats why i have been thinking about bending it alil bit...i am not comfortable with the idea, but if the whole product manages to stand by itself, then it would be more than enough for me. Of course, i am not telling you even 1/20 of the other stuff i have thought about. |

^ I just mean to be careful, I've read fanfics of crossing two things and that can make the whole thing fall apart.
I'm reminded of a NGE fanfic a few yeas ago that had a Shinji acting like a badass with no explanation and made the whole thing suck, the writer wanted the same backstory with him not the same. |

@nigtjack: speaking if fanfics that make Shinji Badass, have you read Shinji 40K? the backstory is basically the same except that kid Shinji found a case full of Warhammer 40,000 miniatures and rulebooks, you can guess what things change.... |

Thanks for your comments. Gotta be careful how i make it, i could end being hated by both gurren lagann fans and MLP:FIM fans, i need to plan this more carefully. I BELIEVE i can make it work, just...you know, gotta plan this really good. I could give out more info about the approach i want to give to this project, but you know, gotta protect my ideas from a thieft. |

Late to the party, I guess :'(
I had a quite similar idea lately, but with Mane 6 as the generals, Celestia as LG, and Luna as Nia. Spike could be Viral, he actually matches. Simon and Kamina as their ponifications. And an interesting note - you can spell "Stoneface" with Gurren Lagann japanese symbols *implied Hasbro placeholder Derpy name*. If the creators weren't nice and everything, we could use them as AntiSpiral, but now we are left with 4chan collective consciousness as a pony oppressor. *eyes suspiciously the coincidence*. My writing skills suck, so if you want, feel free to use it. :D |
