I'm still not sure what to make of that filly Derpy, considering she appeared in that one scene and then mysteriously disappeared for the rest of the episode.

My headcanon is Junior is Derpy daughter and Dinky's fraternal twin sister. Sparkler is Dinky older friend who has a Big sister-little sister relationship. |

I see Junior only as an intentional shoutout to the fans, and not as a canon character. Upon a second background appearance, this viewpoint will change. Plus, Ditzy and Dinky are too adorable to be separated within the fandom. |

The character sheet for the Canterlot Castle builder on the Hub website explicitly labels her sprite as Derpy.
