Yeah, the Daleks if you didn't know already exist only to kill; hence their famous phrase "EXTERMINATE!" They literally exist to destroy every other form of life. |

daleks have no emotions, their sole purpose it exterminating other life forms. they killed all of the time lords (the doctor's race) so i hope this helps you verbose |

NightJack: Daleks were on the planet at the time, having taken control of some of it. Since it's Gallifrey, they stay there for a few hundred years, and that's just a three day weekend by the Time Lord's standard. With Dalek-controlled gallifreyans with those mind-control helmets. They are dead, they just weren't dead yet at the time because time travel happened (if you stop and think about it like that, most people who die at one point are still alive in a different portion of history).
Basically, what happened was: Time War starts, time lock is placed, Time Lords come back during "The End of Time", Time War ends (Time Lords are dead by this point), Doctor moves on and eventually lives through the events of "The End of Time". So, the Time Lords were dead by that point, the Doctor was just interacting with a past version of them. The point of the time lock is just to make sure that neither they, nor anyone else attempts to prevent that. tl;dr - Wibbly-wobbly, timey-wimey |
