Yeah except a child shouldn't have to make others feel bad to feel good. Adults on the other hand have seen how depressing the world is and thus the cycle of hate tends to keep them from killing themselves... that or more pony... either way

This is a point I've been trying to make for awhile.
Trixie's case is even more egregious.

That's because tiara's stuck up while gilda is just really angry. The latter is much more relate-able

But most children simply aren't mature enough yet.
Most kids grow up and learn to be nice.

Still I find it easier to excuse an adult their actions since they could have years of psychological trauma backing their actions. Trixie could have been neglected, Gilda could have been beaten and neglected while Diamond Tiara... is just a snobby rich girl who has no need to put others down

Trixie show boats and puts herself above others an act to hide a fragile shell of a pony who never got the attention she felt she deserved as a child. Gilda steals and puts on a tough act if out of necessity that means abuse. So I'm sorry if I find it more excusable that actions reinforced by childhood are more easy for me to forgive

Sorry I'm getting too into it I enjoy psychological analysis as a hobby and weapon. Anyways I'll concede most children grow out of it but you have to admit most grown ups have a reason for their action brought on by years of emotional fragility from some kind of trauma.

The worst Gilda's done is lose her only known friend. Granted, it was her own fault, but she gets sympathy for that.

I don't hate any of the characters. I either like them or are indifferent to them. The fanon has brought Trixie out of the indifferent zone for me and it's also made me kind of like Gilda. I haven't seen anything related to Silver Spoon or Diamond Tiara to make me like them.

Exactly everyone's had a bad fight so everyone can sympathize with losing a friend through action. Trixie you can kind of see a desire to be noticed which makes you think about her origins but Diamond Tiara... well... I don't think many can sympathize with what would probably constitute as the 1% going "Oh woe is me my life is terrible I am entitled to so much!" So yeah that's where the hate is generated from her being obnoxious and spiteful when she's so much better off.

Sorry about the above comment I just hold a special place in the center of my brain that controls anger for people who are so lucky but still think they need to torment others as if they're suffering.

YES! 1000 TIMES YES!
Bronies says that Gilda and Trixie had sad pasts while DT is too young for one, but being young does not means that she has no problems. For example:
She's from a rich family and was always taught that she was superior to poor ponies. Fearing being rejected by her parents, she treats other ponies bad, even if she has nothing againist them.
See? It's not too hard to find a justification for her attitude.

Except then you get into a debate of morality. Would someone who's even to be considered a likable pony truly maintain an heir of superiority when it hurts other ponies? The short answer is no, the long answer is that this character was meant to be hated and that's why she shows antagonistic tendencies in her portrayal, always spiteful and cruel even towards her friends when things don't go her way, or need I remind you she practically stormed out of her own party angrily and growled at Silver Spoon simply because she didn't get to torment Applebloom?

Same can be said of Trixie and Gilda but there's had a little sympathy in them in that Trixie seemed to crave the attention more than the fame and prestige and Gilda lost a friend. Long story short the fact that Diamond Tiara is a child and shows no semi-redeemability is what makes her so hated. She doesn't show remorse, which Gilda does by hesitating before both insulting and leaving Rainbow Dash, and Trixie at least was apologetic for lying when she had to reveal she lied. Diamond Tiara has never shown any remorse for her actions and has only ever seemed to be cruel

You know if you told me I'd be having this conversation five years ago I'd have called you a lunatic and yet here we are. Anyways if anyone still feels up for debating why certain characters are hated feel free to.

Is it bad that i really like when she speaks about death?
Anonymous
#668638

Well that depends on if you think it's bad, if you don't then to you it isn't bad is it? If it is to someone else then it's bad to them words mean nothing but what we choose to use them to describe. If we say something is bad it's because we don't like it. So to answer you Flutterguy since you like it no it's not bad.

I'd also like to point out that she seems to be the one who is over reacting. All he asked was if she tried to calm her down. It's like asking, "how about this weather," and getting, "back in this one place I lived, we had weather ten times as bad as this for ten times as long, so stop complaining," as a reaction.

Ah my apologies I was almost hurt for a second there, glad to see you find it entertaining, but it is easy to understand why so many dislike Diamond Tiara given everything mentioned.

1) The Ursa destroyed Trixie's wagon, which may or may not have been her home, and certainly contained all the stuff she used in her act, which leaves her worse off than any of the other antagonists except Discord (and possibly worse off than even him), so there's some sympathy for her;

2) Telling outrageous stories about incredible feats of bravery and might is exactly what a traveling entertainer is supposed to do. It's not her fault that Snips and Snails were dumb enough to think it was real.

Actually there's a reason I never brought that up Nemryn, and yeah I just made an account btw. Anyways I never brought up the wagon because I like to see how far I can get without a sympathy crutch like how Snips and Snails may have ruined Trixie's life

But how does a Silver Spoon know what a Gilda is?
Anonymous
#669027

Exactly.

I find it funny how bronies will put up with childish, selfish behavior from adults but not from children who are ALL selfish and childish. Part of growing up is learning that you're not the center of the universe. Most children grow out of their selfishness; the adults who don't (Trixie and Gilda) are all the worse for it in my opinion.

Difference being?
Trixie and Gilda LEFT.
Silver Spoon and Diamond Tiara are still there... still making other little pony's lives absolute hell.
Every. Single. Day.

Plus, Trixie and Gilda both got some pretty harsh comeuppance. DT and SS are, thus far, Karma Houdinis.

Kids are kids people. Why do you keep getting flank frustated by verbal abuse of fucking cartoon chars, especially the CMS?

If those two were to bully the trio into suicide that would increase the average quality of the show. (though I must admit I'll kinda miss Aplebloom, she's cute and doesn't always act as a complete retard when the other two are not around)

Some adults are just cunts. Pure and simple. A shit childhood or past trauma doesn't excuse it or make it acceptable. My own childhood was pure hell, but I chose to be strong in spite of it. If someone allows their past control their actions, they're just too weak.
On the other hoof, I can forgive kids their misdeeds and maliciousness. They don't know better, and it's up to the adults in their lives to teach them; a task most, unfortunately, aren't qualified for.

Diamond and Spoony are too young to be Draco In Leather Pants for most bronies.

That's why they're treated like the scum of the earth. Trixie and Gilda are biological adults with Vaginas, so everybody is desperately coming up with excuses for their rather nasty personalities.
