I have a bad feeling she probably has parents that don't care for her or at least have a superficial relationship at best.
Hence the need for attention, good or bad from others. And putting other ponies down to hide her own insecurities. |

^Roboshi, actually I have the opposite view. Diamond Tiara's special talent is obviously being a beauty queen. So I figure she's one of those "child beauty star" types with over-doting parents that are living vicariously through her. She has a need for attention because she's been taught that she's the center of the universe. Everyone's attention belongs on her, and she's jealous of any other pony who's getting some of that attention. |
