I think Allie is his big sister. There was an older mare next to Allie in the bowling alley with the same cutie mark. I bet she's the mother of both Snails and Allie. |

The marks are starbursts from a art deco style called "Googie" which was popular in the 50s and 60s -- the time that bowling spread across the US.
