If you, fellow americans, did your famous D-Day in 1943 as you were asked to, you could've said something about "asses kicked up untill america helped them". But in 1944 USSR has already mostly pushed germans off it's territory and started counter-offence. In fact after battle near Kursk in 1943 germans were already rather screwed on Eastern Front. Ignorance doesn't make you look any good you know. |

The US' main focus during the war wasn't the Germans, it was the Japanese. Likewise, the Russians were mostly focused on the Germans.
So yes, the Soviets were the most instrumental group in beating the Nazis. The Americans were most instrumental in beating the Japanese. BOTH were necessary to win the war. I know some people hate to hear that and want to think that everyone in the world was just sitting there crying until big strong America came along and threw Hitler off a cliff, but that's not how real life works. In real life, the good guys don't always win, and sometimes your only choice is between one kind of evil and another. The Soviets beat Hitler. Deal with it. |

yes if you remember that soviets fighting 3 horrible years against nazi hydra, when allies only promise them about open western front. and it happend after japanise assault on pearl harbor, lazy americans. also allies just didnt want share victory with russians, and tryes to capture berlin faster. but russians was there first. urrrah! |

Whoah, Hold on now. You guys are forgetting that it was the British RAF (Royal Air Force) who defeated the German Luftwaffe, (which was kicking the Russian Airforce's ass). The Russian Air Force would never be able to defat the German Luftwaffe on their own, the BF 109 became a nightmare to all Russian pilots! Plus the British defeated the German North African campaign, you can't ignore that!
the USA delivered tons and tons of trucks, cars, artilleries and weapons to the Russian army. Even if the USA did not direcly fight together with the Russians against the Germans at the beginning, but American jeeps and half-trucks mobilized Russian infantry. The Russian army didn't even have enough guns for all their soldiers. Also, before the German army even entered Russia, remember they also fought against France and Poland, many German soldiers were fallen in these battles too. Russia NEVER faced the whole potentioal of the German army. It isn't hard to Win if you have unlimited supplies, unlimited resources and reinforcements. The Russian army had plenty of fuel, plenty of tanks, plenty of soldiers, plenty of EVERYTHING! The Germans on the other hand were exhausted, outnumbered on all fronts and their industrial was being carped bombed by American bomber squadrons which helped to slow down German Weaponry production. The germans fought with what they had, and to be honest it is a miracle to me how they got as far as they did. Even though only 60% of the German army was fighting in Russia, they conquered the half country and ALMOST got to Stalingrad. Now just imagine if the whole German army would have invaded, the Red Army would have been crumpled and defeated within a few months. And that's why the Russian army had easy play with the Germans. Just because they have destroyed most of the German army doesn't mean they did everything alone. I don't care what you Russian fanboys think. Fact is, if U.S.A & Britain hadn't fought against the Germans and helped to make plans for D-Day and all other invasions in Europe and Africa, the Nazis never would've fought on two sides and Russia would've eventually fallen to the 3rd Reich. A two front war is what caused the Nazis to lose the war. I can insure you that all well educated historians will agree to that. |

Ya'll are forgetting that the one person who cost the Germans the war was Adolf himself. If he hadn't of had his stupid ideas about how to run war, then Germany would have curb-stomped Britain AND Russia, and America wouldn't have gotten involved because we would have seen it was pointless. |
