Thanks for the advice regarding the .org site. I had no clue... Some of my sanity is returning. Some. I'm just thoroughly ticked off that people come in here and just start wrecking my tags cause I didn't get them up within 1.563238447564 seconds of posting the image...
Of course, it does raise the question... Where the hay is the delete button? I figured there'd be one in my user account page. Don't see one. I really would like to just throw this away and start from scratch, without all the parasprites in the comments. |

Yeah, I'm not really sure what to make of it. I don't really know how official it is. I do like that even though they left the wing tips pink, that it does contrast the white/off white color. Celestia has always been white, with pink border lines. I'm ok with the pink wing tips. Since so many more of the lines are used to render the edges of Celestia's feathers, it does shift the overall wing color slightly pink. I'd like to see this released. I bought up a small pile of the 5 piece gift packs, with the molded hair Celestia, and a couple Luna/Celestia double packs, with the transparent wings and molded hair Celestia. If they ever release these in the US, I'll pop off the molded mane and tail and attach them to the white toy. Can then paint the maneless/tailless pink bodies purple or black and sculpt Luna or NMM mane/tails for them. I have some ideas for using translucent epoxy or silicone filled with glitter and blue dye for the etherial mane and tail. It'd be a two step process, to achieve the more solid star field center, and the very transparent outer layer. |

Word from Purple Tinker, who bought a hoard of the new run of blind bag ponies on Taobao said this Celestia was added to the order.
Waiting for further response, but it is still pink. A little less pink though. The wing tips and poor image illumination make it appear whiter than it is, supposedly. I have asked if a side by side image can be taken with the standard pink 5 piece gift set Celestia, and the Taobao version, and then posted for comparison purposes.. Don't know if that'll happen, but I hope to have my curiosity satisfied. |

I figured she'd still be pinkish (stores demand pink). I prefer this colour to the pepto bismal she was before. I wish their tails would be thicker. They look so tiny. I wouldn't mind seeing a comparison pic either. |

it may be a fluke of camera or camera lighting. Don't trust those China cameras. I bought one from DealExtreme, and all the pictures were washed out and yellow. Returned and got another. The camera's flash was a higher temperature color, so it washed out some pastel colors, since the flash reflected off it more. Quite very strange. |

So, this Celestia finally came out this week. I posted comparison pics. She is DEFINITELY still pink. She's also fatter than the old toys, with much less detail in the body lines. He mold lines are less elegant, and more obvious. The wings are no longer set into individually molded sockets, but instead drop into a giant rectangular hole in the back. It's quite ugly.
It's CLEAR to me they have significantly cheapened the molding process on these new toys. Even if these HAD turned out to be white, or near white, I RECANT my earlier statement about wanting to transplant the molded mane and tail of an old Celestia toy to this one... This body mold is not befitting of Celestia. I would NOT be opposed to using it for a Nightmare Moon custom though. The thicker body build is just enough to differentiate this toy from the old Celestia toys. It could be painted dark and the enlarged head could be shaved of it's mane and fitted with a sculpted helmet. I've seen some creative methods to do the etherial star field mane and tail of NMM and Luna, and i imagine those methods could be recreated for such a custom. I suppose this toy, modded into a Nightmare Moon would be fitting. Since she's fatter, it'd fit with the legends of her eating all the foals who refuse to leave her an offering of candy on Nightmare Night! MWAHAHAHAHAHA!!! |

Also, LOL! ROFLcar was right about this being the same Celestia to come with the Royal Castle Friends pack, which comes with Twilight "big crown thingy" Sparkle, Quadrupedal Spike the Dragon, and Fatlestia.
