For ponies they have these hard tooth-grips installed in them. They went with low-weight stock bowling balls from the dragon bowling alleys instead of waiting for the proper mouthgrip balls to be ready. |

Ponies are like the only human-level intelligent creatures in Equestria without fingers. They probably hav the holes so non-ponies who hav trouble using their mouths don't feel discriminated against. |
