Fluttershy was the youngest of two foals born to Posey and her husband (a pegasus- haven't decided who yet). She was born four years after her sister, Parasol. When Fluttershy was born, she was simply Flutter, because she had a tendency to flutter her wings quickly for a moment. Posey suggested often that Flutter would be a great flyer, but she never had the chance to find out. When Fluttershy was only a year and a half old, she took ill. She was frail already, as she had been born early, and they worried the sickness may take her life. Posey knew of an herb that would cure her, but it was in the Everfree forest, and could not be found anywhere else. But it was her filly's life, and Posey went into the forest to search for it. She came home a few hours later and put the water to boil, and then realized she had left her shears in the forest. Posey was not a brave pony, but soon the hedges and trees outside would need shearing, and they had used a lot of money trying to cure Flutter's sickness, so she went back out into the woods. It was there she met the cockatrice that turned her to stone. After her husband found her, he set up a kind of shrine in the forest. He had a unicorn put a spell around the pedastal to prevent it, along with the pony on it and the area a few feet around it, protected from wind, rain, fire, and the beasts of the forest. Then he left the home on the ground and brought his daughters to the clouds, determined that they would not be taken from him in the same way. He told them that their mother was taken by the monsters on the surface, and they were never to go there. Every birthday and holiday he visited the pedestal, bringing presents, cards, and even boxes of chocolate on holidays. Flutter became Fluttershy, as the sickness seemed to have changed her, as well as losing her mother had. She seemed afraid of heights, and opening her wings. However, it was not until many years later that she got her cutie mark on the surface, and it was several years later that her father led his daughters to Posey's grave for the first time. |

I shouldn't be laughing.
The only reason i am is because Posey looks a little derped. Still, I am greatly saddened. :'( |
