G4.5 will be largely the same as G4, but with rampant Executive Meddling.
When Celestia suddenly turns pink over a season break, crappy playsets start regularly appearing in the show, and a running theme of "new pony in town" (which just happens to be the latest MLP recolor-toy) starts setting in, then we've crossed into "G4.5" |

If G4.5 exists I expect the cartoon to have toy ponies in it, and it'll be sort of a psuedo-sequel to FiM.
Hopefully the toy line dies with FiM, so we'll just move onto G5. |

Personally, I'm hoping that any G5 is animated, paced, and filled with musical numbers like with the Disney Golden Age. |

If the show retains popularity, there's always the off chance Hasbro will pull a Flintstones, and "G4.5" will be a spinoff of sorts featuring adult CMCs. |

The problem here is that there is no G1.5 and the only reason there is a G3.5 is the big change of the toys and cartoons but still under the "Ponyville" the name G3 was sold under. |

But back on track, honestly, unless G 4.5 is very close to G4 (takes place in the same universe/same writing and animation style) then I won't even bother with it. I'm a FiM fan more than an MLP fan. |

... does it really matter? Most of us will be close-minded about G4.5 or G5 because we've become hypocrites. Or some of us, at least. Blame the dreaded 1% of every fandom for that. |

If this generation follows the pattern of the previous ones, we can expect to see G5 sometime around 2020. It's too early to worry about that right now. |
