(/\ SAME ANON) Oh, I forgot to explain, you see Derpy being Dinky's babysitter is my headcanon.
Sparkler is studying to be a stylist and takes classes at a local beauty school, but she needs someone to watch after Dinky while their parents are out of town. So she hires Derpy because she lives nextdoor and her pay is good (muffins). Dinky likes spending time with Derpy and wants to be like her. One night, Sparkler wanted to test out a hair dye spell she learned. So, she persuaded Dinky to be her test subject. ("You want to be Derpy, right?) The test was a success, turning Dinky's natural hair (light purple) to light blonde hair. But now Derpy tends to mistakes Dinky for her daughter from time to time. |
