I don't own any current generation consoles. I haven't bought a console in almost a decade.
I'm still playing my PS2 and Gamecube. Not to mention my old SNES, Genesis, PSX and N64 games. 
I don't even try to run PC games. |

some PC games won't let you fiddle with the graphics. In fact, some of those are actually PC ports of failed Xbox/PS3/Wii releases. They build a raw "emulator" to run the game on the PC, and remap console buttons to the HID network. A lot of them don't do that nonsense, and those that don't actually run better on fast graphics cards than the ports. |

I can say one of the reasons consoles hold majority over pcs is due to the fact that a console is generally an easier to afford gaming device. Plus it is much less maintenance. I am all for PC gaming over console, but look at it this way. How many general peeps would end up buying a four hundred dollar video card for a machine that is like 3-6 years old to play some new and wonderful game on their pc (considering they own one to begin with), when they could generally opt into a less expensive console and play the same game. I would rather pc game, but after my pc died, I am not stuck with a laptop that has computational power, but is rather anemic on video power. I can't even play amnesia from steam >.< I average roughly 20 fps on wow with my settings at medium. |
