I was diagnosed with Asperger Syndrome by somebody who has both the legal and medical authority to have done so. I know absolutely nothing about this person or his/her situation, but I just wanted to point out that one of my biggest annoyances in life is people using AS as an excuse without reasonable explanation. |

I remember a few times in my life people actually trying to diagnose me with Autism or Aspergers. Two of them were teachers and the third was a co-worker.
My co-worker based it off of the fact I didn't remember a different department worker's name. That's right, she based it off of a moment of forgetfulness(I'm upfront 99% of the time, so if I'm not around another department; I'm obviously not going to know or remember). |

I had teachers try to get me diagnosed with ADD, ADHD, Autism, and Aspergers. Really I was just a very aggressive kid with a really bad temper. For one reason or another, they couldn't officially diagnose me with any of the above (so that the school could leech money off the government to 'help' me, really it was put in the fund for the entire school), so they pretty much MADE UP a condition and stuck that to my record.
While the school was using most of the money that was supposed to support me, I worked my temper out and learned to chill out. Interestingly, it was making friends that pretty much solved it. There you have it, Friendship is Magic! Or at least therapeutic. |
