Your head spun right round as you felt the taste of salt at the tip of your tongue and the cold feel of dry air against your face. You cracked your eyes open, feeling the muscles in your front hooves ache with every movement, insisting to stay your place and let the day go by like a lazy loon standing in the pond.
The sand from your eyes slips from their hold as the alien feel of silken gold sheets clung to your flank like a second coat with every inch of consciousness bringing you back to the edge of reality. A flick of your tongue allowed sweet, soft texture to tingle its tip. Your ears catch a small moan to see a rather haggard looking Princess looking shyly away from you as thoughts rushed a mile a minute and shook you to full stupor, her mane tussled in so many directions it looked like it had been through a storm. Her coat seemed to be crusty in a few odd places, sticking up oddly in little points all along her neck... your eyes widened as you reared yourself, feeling the night's events begin to return. As she craned her neck and licked the bottom of your lips... you realize there could be worse things to wake up to. Like her that little sister of hers glowing in dark miasma in the doorway. ...Oh, boy. |

Loons are physically incapable of standing up, though. Their legs stick out to the sides so far back on their bodies that they can only swim or fly. |
