non fleshy toned/red lipstick looks really tacky to me and considering that this is a WW2 based story (there for style is very 40's influenced) it wouldn't fit very well |

Maybe they should have the opposite colour eye shadow to their hair (basically switching them around from what they are now)? So it matched the colour of their bodies as ponies, and added to the fact they both two colours in their theme that are the opposite of one another. |
