Must agree even if her as the mother of either of these ponies isn't exactly holding a favored place in my headcanon for various reasons. And... @MaroonBunyip It's... Well she seems young enough to enter the Best Young Flyers competition, which is appearance I find more real then flashback crowd scenes. If ponies mature faster then their ideas of "Young" are probably lower then the ideas that humans have. But generally I still find Derpy being their mother preferable to... #641364's comment. I just find that the worst of all possible conclusions since it shoves Sparkler into the easily ignored corner and isn't satisfying at all. Seriously, I might not find many of the other explanations particularly satisfying, but that one is just... Very not good. |

This one is ridiculous Because Dinky had no sister she was enrolled in a big sister\big brother program so the unicorn was assigned to be her as a big sister that sounds much better then derpy haveing 2 daughters especially one looking as old as derpy herself |

Instead of thinking Derpy's secretly old, maybe Sparkler's just way younger than she looks? Pinkie is a year younger than Fluttershy, but you can't tell the age difference. It's possible that Derpy is around 35, gave birth to Sparkler at 20, and Dinky at 30. |

I find if we're going to explore the implausible concepts then degree of implausibility shouldn't matter, now should it? And... @MetalHooves Not sure if that's young enough for a young flyers competition, but still a preferable explanation in my mind to some of the others. So I may as well give it a relatively positive response. |

First off, I've strongly moved to believe that Derpy is too young to have a filly and that she's just a babysitter or a big friend (or another sister).

You got it all wrong, Sparkler is the mother of both Derpy, Dinky, and Rainbowdash. She is also the second cousin of the former roomate of Carrot Top's little sisters' school teachers plumber. Thats my headcanon and if you do not agree than F U canon nazi. |
