Spike was born when twilight was about 5/6 (assuming because thats the standard age kids start school). If twilight is young adult (very close to 20s), this would mean that spike is about 15/16. Makes sense. Competent for work, but not mature enough to be independent. |

The CMCs are about 10. Spike is 13-14. The mane six are 17-19.

In human terms he seems more like a 12-13 year old to the CMC's 10ish. Of course dragon's are usually depicted as aging very slowly, so it's only natural that he would still have some traits (physically and mentally) of a much younger child. |

He's a baby dragon, which means he's probably around 6. Dragons typically have an absurdly huge int score, so for him to act like he's 10-12 when he is 6 would be normal. Once they start getting older and bigger, they stop caring that they are more intelligent than everything else and can solve any problem with claws and fire. |

@zorak: Well, IQ-wise children are actually pretty darn smart, they can learn much faster than adults. They just don't seem like it because they act so emotionally immature.
Reptiles in real life don't really act immature when they are small, they go around acting like miniature adults. I figure Spike seems mature for his age because he has a reptile-like lack of childishness. |

15, he's way too smart to be a child, but way too immature to be an adult.
The Mane 6 are probably in their early 20's. Half of them live alone or have full time jobs. And non of them go to school. |
