I will just live with "It's canon, screw fanon". |

I'll just keep it "Lyra", thank you very much.
Otherwise, a fine thought. |

I like "Incidental Unicorn #2" the best, a show layout artist confirmed that as the in-house name for her. |

Oy vey, what a mess. |
| TobiasKazama #639953 8 months ago |
I'm on team Incidental Unicorn #2 as well. |

You are late to the party, bro. |
| Anonymous #639970 8 months ago |
I still like "Fred". |
| ROTHY #639998 8 months ago |
Hasbro already established that the names of the background ponies are left to us. |
| Mike-RaWare #640004 8 months ago |
My standpoint is: the show is the only canon. Screw those damn toys. |

Inb4 arguments over whether the name should be "Incidental Unicorn #2", "Fred", or "Minty Unicorn Of Awesome But Unseen Musical Ability" |
| Kein #640155 8 months ago |
What if I will continue to call her Lyra?
Sue me. And it has nothing to do with "canon rejection" or whatever "rightful bronies" call it, I just like "Lyra" + iti s just 4 letters. I never was able to spell Heartstrings properly. Also too much to type. |

My view is that toy canon does not equal show canon, they are two separate realities that simply share many similarities but have too many differences to be considered the same. Until we hear actual names of the BG ponies mentioned in the show, the fanon names stand and the toys are their own thing. |

"I have reasons to suspect"
And those reasons are...? |
| Anonymous #640462 8 months ago |
"Minty Unicorn Of Awesome But Unseen Musical Ability"
I'll just call her Muoabuma! |
| Anonymous #640529 8 months ago |
Gotta agree with Icehawk on this one. It's the best way to take it cause...well mostly it's true. As a long time Transformers and G.I. Joe fan I know PLENTY of stuff from the toys and show don't match up. Even stuff from the comic doesn't make up with stuff from shows and toys. They're all kind of their own seperate entities that just happen to represent a greater whole. So toywise that pony is Heartstrings and happens to look like Twilight while in show fanon she's Lyra until it's mentioned otherwise in the show itself. Problem solved. |

Lyra heartstrings. I can live with that. |
| Monkey_Zombie #640754 8 months ago |
or Lyra and Heartstrings are two seperate ponies. |

Honestly I like Lyra Heartstrings. It flows well and fits. :D |

I rather like the Cutiesinera naming idea. It would make so much more sense how many of the older ponies wind up with names connected to their talent before they ever find out what their talent is, or even demonstrate any talent at all for that matter. |
