I find it odd that they use their mouths to do these things. It's pretty unhygienic!

^Because ponies are vegetarian.
She keeps them for three possible reasons. 1. To sell feathers. 2. To sell eggs/meat to other creatures, she needs to work. 3. They are sick and she tends them. and the bonus reason. They're cute. |

^^ And what about "vegetarian" implies "doesn't eat eggs"? It's vegans that don't eat any animal products. Besides, eggs are often an ingredient in pastries and the like, which they eat all the time. |

Eggs are categorised as meat.
And one can use other ingredients in pastries to replace eggs. |

The issue isn't whether or not eggs are vegan or vegetarian.
The issue isn't whether or not eggs are meat. The issue is whether or not the cartoon ponies with multicolored pastel coats, big anime eyes, and adorable personalities digest food the same way as ponies on Earth do. And quite honestly, that issue is fairly silly. Eggs are delicious and even if they can't digest them, they're willing to go through indigestion for the sake of tasting good food. |
