OC villain; can it be done? Assume the guy has no special powers, a decent motive, and is roughly aligned to chaotic neutral/chaotic evil (worth looking up on tv tropes... some of the best villains in fiction fall into it.) |

The problem isn't the creation of a good OC, it's the fact people jump all over ANY OC and call it a Mary Sue without having any information other than a fucking picture.
It's just blind hate for no reason, and it's killing a lot of opportunity for some really good fan made content. Yes there are bad OC's, but there are bad OC's in EVERY fandom. There are equally bad characters actually in the stories and shows the fandoms are based around as well. People just need to get over this "It's an OC so I'll hate it for no reason" bullshit. |

@zanzibar: It's possible, a good character can be made from just about anything given proper set up and effort. The problem most people have with villains is most people only see them as an obstacle for their protagonist to overcome when in reality they should have as much thought and attention put into them as your main character. |

With no real insight on the backstory, I'd say this is a decent OC. Its not over the top and cliché.

I sincerely apologize. Your post gave the impression that you were lumping in an OC that has absolutely NONE of those traits (at least in this version of the image) with the shitty recolors that the average ponibooru user seems to think are the only kinds that exist. But really, can you blame us? Have you taken a good look at the bile and pure idiocy this site spews at blatantly non-suish OCs on a daily basis? It's like the OPPOSITE of the sonic fandom; instead of creating shitty recolor sues, the only OC they don't burn at the metaphorical stake is Lauren's Ponysona, but honestly what they do to her is far more insulting and repulsive. |
