The half sisters angle wasn't covered yet I think. Plus we can cover angles like family troubles that wouldn't make it into the show. Suggestion: does someone want to make a Phineas & Ferb drawing? |

I don't dislike this idea, actually. In my headcanon, Dinky's father was kind of a dirtbag anyway, so him having a string of foals across Equestria fits with that. That being said, if somepony likes Dinky/Derpy they will always find a way to put them together unless one of the characters on the show explicitely states "She's not my mum/ daughter". If you never saw Dinky and Derpy as being related, this will not change your position anyway. It's a non-issue. |

Half sisters...i dont think so, Why doesnt anyone think that maybe the color of the father of both is the same as Sparkler? Since dinky's has more resemblance like her mother (and implying that both are unicorns which means the father is) that means that the older one is more likely her dad |

^ The "half-sisters" solution is quite elegant because it lets Derpy participate in YOUNG Flyers' Competition. We know very little about the intricacies of the legal system in Equestria, but here on Earth, UN defines "Youth" a being between 15 and 25 years of age. This seems to be the limit, although Danish Youth Association goes all the way to 34 years of age (look up "youth" on Wikipedia). This is really a non-argument, since magical pastel-colored ponies age differently anyway, but I'm just throwing it out there if it helps anyone make up their mind. |

One thing to remember is that Derpy was an adult ten years ago. She was standing next to filly Twilight when Celestia raised the sun in Cutie Mark Chronicles. |

I have a half sister who is like 17 years older than I am. for the longest time she loved far away and I never got to see her or even know she existed. this works perfectly |

This is just someone adding a touch of denial to another persons otherwise good picture.
Anyone can add words to a picture, but apparently not everyone actually cares about trying something new. If you want to make Derpy into Dinky's mother then don't try to fit it into canon. Derpy's around Rainbow Dash's age in non-flashbacks. |

^There IS NO CANON for background ponies. Sparkler being Dinky's sister is just as much fanon as Derpy being her mother. As far as canon is concerned, neither Dinky nor Sparkler exist as individuals. It's in fanon where they are more than just living scenery. |
