Somehow, I could see Vinyl being punk enough to recite this.

It amazes me how most Americans only know about Guy Fawkes from V for Vendetta.
Here, well learn that poem in primary school.

In my Headcanon, Octavia is British, or at least speaks it, so her reciting sounds good to be.

Voice actresses, away!

Anon 788, I am American and I knew of the Fawkes incident at an early age. I can't remember where I learned it, but I doubt it was the internet. Plus, I have no doubt there are plenty of significant pieces of American history that are not taught in British schools. Why would it amaze you that the inverse is true as well?

Perhaps "amaze" was the wrong word. More, irritate.
Now yes, there is a lot of US history I am not familiar with, but if there was a big film about, say, the battle of Getisburg, then it would annoy me how the new generation only know from that.

Think of it like, when some-one says "harder better faster stronger" and they learnt that from Kanye West.

It's Gettysburg isn't it? (I'm a Brit, I have an excuse for not being sure)

The main thing this makes me think is... does this mean Ask Octavia is run by a Brit?

Yeah, I probably spelt it wrong, but lemme check your question.

OK, after staring at the posts for 20 minutes, looking for the word "colour" to see how they spell it.

I found nothing.

All I can think is, they are British because Vinyl said "granny" once instead of "grandma" though I don't know if Americans do say granny.

Depends on which area and individual. I've used Grammy and Granny before. @ Anon 746 ^

Also @ Anona 838: I internet'ed it after I heard of the gunpowder plot which was mentioned one in a textbook. (I attend a Catholic High School so if you're wondering about the average Public American High School curriculum, I have no clue)
