It's because they're the only beings on the same level.
She can't have a relationship with anyone since she'll outlive them. Same for Discord, although with anyone who demonstrates less than the ideal control and perfection of a goddess would be driven mad by him anyway. She's the only one who could handle him and he's the only one compatible with her. hmm maybe it could work like this Tia and Discord use to rule together, but the same evil magic that made Luna evil inffected Discord. So Tia and Luna use the Elements to free him but it turns out he just likes being evil. or something |
