She's a side character, they aren't going to change the dynamic of the show because she was in one episode.
And you shouldn't assume we'll never see her again because she was missing from an episode that had nothing to do with her. |

One of the showrunners mentioned that there would be enough Luna to keep her fans happy. That comment is subject to interpretation, but mine is that there will be roughly as many episodes involving here as there were episodes in season 1 that focused on the Cutie Mark Crusaders. |

^So like 2 that sounds a bit disappointing actually. Not much of a Luna fan but I wouldn't mind seeing more of her. Maybe like Three episodes that would seam fine. Not to much and not to little just a perfect amount of Luna for me. |
