Just occurred to me that the pieces are facing the wrong directions. Aqui is supposed to be playing white, because Luna gave him a handicap. I'll fix that for Tumblr.
Anyhoo, the arrangement of pieces is based on a famous IRL chess game. Except the colors are swapped, so for all I know, this may not even be possible. (I'm shite at chess, personally.) Also obfuscating things is the face that I haphazardly made a ponified set of chess pieces. Pawns are easily identifiable, but the rest goes like this: Rook = Ranger (crested) Knight = Sentinel (winged) Bishop = Magister (horned) Queen = Princess (winged and horned) King = Realm (flagpole) |

As a chess freak, I can say that the board position is wrong (a white square must be in the down-right corner of the player, not a black square like in this picture).
But don't worry, those types of mistakes are very easy to make. |
