The facts are that she was never actually "Lyra" in the first place. That's all. Are you really complaining about a wiki not using Fanon as a source? Really? They're just using the most accurate source they have available, it's hardly beings an "asshole" or a "troll" to do so. |

I think you missing the point. problem is not that they added Heartstrings as her name, problem is that they removed "Lyra" completely, while other ponies have up to 4 names. Nobody would hurt if Lyra has two names as well, like Lyra/Heartstrings. Besides, it never was confirmed that the toy of a green pony is the same pony from the show, afaik. |

That's only when they're all fan-names. They seem to follow the idea that toys take precedence over fanon but anything on the show trumps all. They haven't removed all mentions to the name Lyra however, there is still mention of an officially licensed shirt that has the name mentioned on the website. They have simply removed every mention that has no connection whatsoever to anything official. |

No one does. They just view it as a more official and therefore more proper source then the Fanon is. No one thinks they take precedence over the actual show, or are equal to it in any way. |

I must admit that between a generally very talented and involved fandom, and a toy company with a marked propensity to not really give a crap about the quality of their own toys...I'm probably gonna go with the fandom.
Still, this entire argument is absurd. Hell, we still frequently call a certain wall-eyed mailmare Derpy even though she was given an actual name. It's not like this changes anything. |

^They are the same ponies,you know hasbro,just because they make inaccurate toys doesn't mean those are not still based on them.
Look at Pink Celestia...she's not that pink,but we know is her. Fluttershy (in the miniature models) is basically Rainbow Dash with Fluttershy's color scheme...But is still Fluttershy. What about Big Mac? he's the most accurate of the blind bag ponies and even him has some differences with the cartoon version....but is still him. Now Heartstrings...c'mon,"Lyra",even though I became attached to the name,Lyra is just part of fanon.Yes her toy is Twilight's mold,but the colors and the cutie mark are the same. Lyra is Heartstrings. |

Heartstrings is a really nice name. I really do like it. But I'm going to call her Lyra because that's been her name to me, and it's still her name to me. Force of habit, and I don't see why I should change my habit when the universe goes on without me acknowledging this new name. That's one thing I don't get about these naysayers. I can understand why you feel like you have to correct/ridicule bronies who refuse to call her something different on principle. What I don't understand is why it's such a gigantic ass deal. Some bronies call her Lyra. That's that, move on. The world is still turning, the sun still rises in the morning, and Oprah Winfrey can't decide whether or not she's fat. |

Hmm, so a toy that has a different mane, different (similar granted, but still different) colours, and a different Mane must be the same pony due to the cutie mark, because, ya know, there's never been anything like a reused cutie mark before. |

Lyra,Lyrica and Strings McGee/Harpo may have the same cutie mark,but only "Lyra" shares the(almost)same color scheme as Heartstrngs.Keep in mind that the reason she has Twilight's mane is because they used her mold,probably in order to save money,because,c'mon,why make a highly accurate mold of a background when you can simply use the ones you already have? |
